Lachania nestles on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This southern part of Rhodes is still relatively un-spoilt and sparsely populated and it is still possible to lie on a beach here during the height of the summer season without seeing another soul! There are numerous beaches to choose from, some of which are known only to the locals who may tell you where they are if you befriend them.
Southern Rhodes has an abundance of such beautiful and unexplored places. In this part of the island can be found lush valleys, beautiful villages, isolated chapels dedicated to the saints and scenery that will take the breathe away.
Lachania is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful villages on the island of Rhodes. It retains its traditional village centre with narrow streets, jostling traditional houses, many of which have been lovingly restored to their former glory. The Platanos Taverna and the Church are the centre of the social life of the village.
For years, the village has been known as the artists’ village of Rhodes.
